Privacy Policy
Effective August 2026. This policy describes how Peer Defaults (“we”) accesses, uses, stores, and shares data, including Google user data.
Who we are
Peer Defaults helps companies see which products they are signed up for, and publishes anonymized peer defaults so founders can pick tools without hours of research. Contact: help@nextgig.xyz. Website: https://peerdefaults.com.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide (name, email, company).
- Google Workspace data you authorize: user directory (including seat count), third-party OAuth app grants, and, if you later enable it, read-only Gmail used only to detect account-signup and billing messages.
- Usage data needed to operate the service (logs, security events).
How we use Google user data
We use Google user data only to provide and improve user-facing Peer Defaults features that are prominent in the product: your company’s tool inventory, and a public directory of de-identified, aggregated peer defaults (for example, “companies of this size often use this CRM”).
Peer Defaults’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- We do not sell Google user data.
- We do not use Google user data for advertising, or to train generalized AI or ML models.
- We do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as needed to provide or improve the service, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with notice.
- Humans do not read Google user data except with your permission for support, for security or abuse investigation, or where required by law. We may use aggregated data for internal operations.
The public directory
When you connect Workspace, we may include a de-identified contribution in the public directory: tool or category, plus coarse firmographics such as size range and industry. We do not publish your company name, your employees’ names, or the contents of email as part of that directory. Rankings are observed from connected workspaces. Vendors cannot pay to appear as the default.
Storage and security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We isolate customer data per account. If we process email, we extract structured signals (vendor, event type, amount when present) and do not keep raw mail or attachments longer than needed to provide the feature.
Sharing
We use subprocessors (for example cloud infrastructure) solely to run the service, under contracts that restrict their use of the data. We do not sell personal information.
Your choices
You can disconnect Google access at any time from your Google Account permissions. You can request export or deletion of your Peer Defaults account data by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your identifiable inventory. Aggregated directory statistics that no longer identify you may remain.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change. Material changes to how we use Google user data will be disclosed before those new uses begin.
